COVID-19 Policy

General information regarding APW's COVID-19 policies and procedures.

Au Pair Weekend continues to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) along with guidelines from state and local health departments and our university partners to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff across all of our locations.  Please review our COVID-19 policies below before registering for an in-person class.
  • All students and staff must show proof of vaccination. Applies to all locations EXCEPT Texas, where we will also accept a negative at-home or lab test within 72 hours prior to the start of the weekend.  If you select to take an at-home test, you must choose one that is video-proctored like Abbott's BinaxNOW, Ellume or Qured.
    • Students must provide official proof of vaccines and boosters if applicable which includes their name, date of birth, and dates of all vaccines administered with the number of doses in order to attend our weekend classes.
    • APW also accepts all vaccinations that are listed on the World Health Organization website. According to the CDC, you are considered fully vaccinated either 2 weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series (such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines) or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine).  For your vaccination to be valid with APW, you must have received all required doses at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the weekend program.
  • Bring a facial cover/ mask and be prepared to wear it depending on current state and university partner policies. Our weekends remain mask friendly

Important Notes:

Please take care of yourself and stay mindful of the symptoms of COVID-19. If you happen to test positive for COVID-19, have been exposed to COVID-19, or have other respiratory-illness-related symptoms within 2 weeks of the course start date, please notify our staff right away. Per the CDC, it is recommended that you wear a mask and not travel for 10 days after your symptoms start. You will be eligible to attend classes if the start of the weekend is at least 5 days since your symptoms first appeared, have gone 24 hours fever-free without the use of medicine and agree to wear a mask during the weekend. The 5-day isolation period still applies if you are asymptomatic (no symptoms) but have tested positive for Covid-19. You will also be eligible to switch to a later course or to a fully online course. Please note some transfer fees may apply.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. Students who risk the safety of their fellow classmates and fail to comply with these policies will be asked to leave the program and will not be eligible for a refund. By attending an APW course, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
